(DES MOINES, Iowa) -- A man is recovering after being injured during an apparent carjacking in Des Moines on Tuesday night.

Des Moines Police say a man was found injured in the area of 50th Street and Twana Drive around 8 p.m., according to published reports, with investigators believing the man was beaten and his vehicle taken.

The victim was taken to an area hospital in unknown condition.
