(DES MOINES, Iowa)  -- The Des Moines Police Department is looking for a female hit and run suspect, who killed a male victim.

Clayton Evan Payne was struck by a vehicle on March 16 while crossing the street at 6th Avenue and College and died the following day as a result of injuries received from the hit and run incident.

After interviewing witnesses and gathering video from area businesses, Traffic Unit investigators have narrowed their search for the hit and run suspect. They are look for a white female with brown hair, in her late 20s to mid 30s, who drove a mid-90s to early 2000s white Jeep Cherokee.
