(DES MOINES, Iowa) -- Data released on Wednesday by the Iowa Department of Education shows that more students are graduating from Des Moines Public Schools (DMPS).

According to a DMPS statement, the class of 2012 for the city's public schools recorded a graduation rate of 79.15 percent, which represents an increase of 3.5 percent when compared to the graduation rate a year earlier.
