(DES MOINES, Iowa) -- Police confiscated eight guns from the home where a 13-year-old boy was shot over the weekend.
According to the Des Moines Register, Alec Osborn was with two friends when he was shot in the shoulder Saturday night at the home of his friend's godfather, Dennis Yohe. Police say that Osborn's friend had unrestricted access to those guns.
Yohe, the owner of the guns, showed police a weapons-carrying permit. Yohe told police he frequently gave his godson access to the guns as a means of educating him about firearms.
Osborn was treated at Iowa Methodist Medical Center and has since been discharged. No charges have been filed as of yet.
