Officials to Explain Fourmile Creek Watershed Study

(DES MOINES, Iowa) -- Officials from Polk County and the cities of Ankeny, Des Moines and Pleasant Hill will be sharing results from a watershed study on Fourmile Creek in April at two scheduled meetings.

The first meeting will be held on Wednesday, April 3 at 5:30 p.m. in the Community Conference Room at Snyder & Associates, Inc. at 2727 SW Snyder Blvd., in Ankeny.

The second meeting will be held on Thursday, April 4 at 5:30 p.m. in the Hy-Vee Euclid Room at 2540 East Euclid Avenue in Des Moines.

The purpose of the watershed study was to engage the public in watershed management for Fourmile Creek to address water quantity and quality issues; develop new hydrologic and hydraulic models for existing and future conditions; prepare alternatives for flood reduction, water quality improvements, and watershed management.
